Anglo-Russian Trade-Union Unity Committee

Established in May 1925 by the British Traders Union Congress and the Stalinist leaders of the Soviet Union.[...]

Establishment of the Union was debated in the Soviet Central Commitee in 1926, after its British members betrayed the general strike. The Left Opposition argued that the unions should be dissolved; while the Stalinists believed they should be maintained. In September, 1927, the British trade union split from the Communist party by its own accord.
