(1910-1912)

Introduction

Hope was a monthly magazine published in Chicago that sought to use humor and cartoons to promote the socialist cause. In this, it was an imitator of similar European socialist publications like the German Der Wahre Jacob or the Italian L'Asino. Its editor and publisher was Frank W. Savage (under the name Ward Savage). Savage was a cartoonist for the Chicago Daily Socialist and other socialist newspapers around the country. Most of the cartoons that graced the front cover of Hope were drawn by Savage.

Little else is currently known about the journal or its editor/publisher.
