Introduction

National Issues was a monthly magazine published by the Communist Party, USA in 1939. An example of high Browderism, it aimed to influence national policy and legislation, particularly in Washington DC, in alignment with the New Deal and the Roosevelt administration. The journal came to an abrupt end in September 1939 following the signing of the German-Soviet Non-Aggression Pact, which compelled the CPUSA to a drastic reversal of its pro-Roosevelt line.
