(1947-1954)

Introduction

New Foundations was a quarterly magazine issued by the Communist Party, USA to promote an interest in Marxism among students and other youth and to encourage their participation in Party-aligned youth groups like American Youth for Democracy (1943-1949) and the Labor Youth League (1949-1956).

In addition to political articles on issues of peace, anti-racism, and the Soviet Union, New Foundations devoted considerable space to issues of culture and the arts.
