The English-language series began publication with Volume I in 1975 and ended with Volume 50 in 2004.It includes all Marx and Engels's published writings—among them the first three volumes of Capital,the Communist Manifesto.The Eighteenth Bnu-maire of Louis Bonaparte. The Civil War in France,Socialism:Utopian and Scientific.It also includes thirteen volumes of correspondence between the two men,their associates,and family.
  Marx,Karl,and Friedrich Engels.Historisch-kritische Gesamtausgabe.Werke,Schriften,Briefe(known as MEGA).Frankfurt,Berlin,Moscow.Publication of this collection of Marx and Engels's writings began in 1927 in Moscow under the direction of the Marx-Engels Institute's founder,David Ryazanov.MEGA is an ongoing project involving intemational scholars and is published by Akademie Verlag in Berlin.As of 2008,55 volumes had been issued.When its projected 114 volumes are finished,MEGA will contain the entire body of Marx and Engels's work and correspondence.
